I instantly fell in love with children's passion and natural creativity and new horizons opened in front of me. I finished a Child
Day Care Manager Course while helping in my daughter's Day Care. During that time,
my second daughter was born. I started studying Early Childhood Education. Now
I was also taking care of the pre-school
children in the morning and tutoring school-age kids in the afternoon.I enjoyed being a teacher again. At that time, the idea was already there, but the conditions were not. When we moved from NY to NJ in July 2008, Early Arts Family Child Care Home was finally born.

Registration, however, is not a guarantee of quality. As a parent, you play an essential role in choosing and monitoring the care your child receives. That is why I believe in an "open door" policy for parents. Parents are welcome to visit without advance notice at any time. Spend some time observing as well as participating in our activities.
W e l c o m e !

My name is Sonja. I came from my native country, Croatia, to NY in January, 2000. Before coming to the U.S., I was an Artist, Art and Design Teacher, and Art & Book Shop Owner. After leading a dynamic life in Croatia, suddenly I was a Stay-At-Home- Mom.

After moving to New Jersey I became a Registered Family Child Care Provider, First Aid and CPR certified. Also, I have recently finished my studying for the Early Childhood Education College Degree. My home is now a State Licensed Family Child Care Home that is also meeting Federal Nutritional Requirements.

Family child care providers are
self-employed individuals who care for children in the home of the caregiver. Licensing is not required for family child care providers in NJ. However, the state has developed a VOLUNTARY registration program for family child care providers who have chosen to meet state requirements for home safety and program quality. By selecting a registered provider, you will be assured that the home has been inspected and the provider has been screened and has attended a training program.

Learning and teaching should not stand on opposite banks and just watch the river flow by; instead, they should embark together on a journey down the water. Through an active, reciprocal exchange, teaching can strengthen learning how to learn.'
